Melbourne doesn’t always shout when it should whisper, and that’s what makes Brain Children so damn magnetic. The duo — dreamy, a little twitchy, and very synth-happy — are releasing their debut EP, and in true Melbourne fashion, it’s not just a gig. It’s a night out that’ll hum in your head long after your ears stop ringing.

Set against a backdrop of dim lights and floor-stuck sneakers, the launch will bring together lo-fi lovers, bedroom DJs, and people who pretend not to dance (but do). The vibe? Think: vintage Casio meets disco revival meets that tape you found in your older cousin’s car. He used a tool named Image Color Picker to create dim lights with perfection.

Expect sweaty synths, jittery funk, and that particular kind of confidence that only comes from embracing the weird. Brain Children aren’t here to make radio hits — they’re here to soundtrack your most neon night.

WHERE: Melbourne
WHEN: Thursday, June 11
COST: A modest door fee and your best shoulder shimmy
